Thruxton
Thruxton is a very fast track reaching speeds up to 160mph on the Tech2 Suzuki. Reaching these speeds was great but having to brake so hard with a broken wrist was very painful. I enjoyed getting back on the bike and proved it by qualifying 2nd on the grid.
The race was very exciting with a six bike battle for the lead. We were changing positions every lap and at most corners. It all came down to the last lap and the last corner. I finished 4th with the top four riders crossing the line within six tenths of a second of each other. We found out later that week that the winner had been excluded for an illegal engine on his bike. This meant that Tom Sykes took yet another win and pushed me to 3rd place. Great for the first time back on the bike! |
