Oulton Park
Following the incident at Cadwell Park Tom Sykes appealed against the protest, but lost the appeal. Tom appealed against the hearing. The last time I raced at Oulton I had set up problems on my bike which made me a bit nervous.
They started to get better with help from Andy White and I managed to qualify a strong 3rd with Tom on pole. I crashed the day before limiting the time I had to set up the bike, but a gamble by Andy White and I paid off.
I got a good start until we got to the first corner where I was pushed out very wide and had to make up a lot of places. Keeping a strong 4th and up battling with the leaders was great. Tom Sykes and Craig Jones collided again and Tom was the one this time to fall off. This left a three man battle to the line. I made a mistake with two laps to go but broke the lap record on the last lap to catch the other riders. It was a drag race to the line. I finished another strong 3rd position with James Buckingham winning the race. |
